I'm guessing we're all calling for the same reason? I called to tell them I'm receiving disability allowance so they said they'll add it to my claim and I'll get a backpayment. Hasanyone eever had a backpayment? And I still can't get through...

I just called 01912251441 constantly for 10mins n eventually got through. They said they are dealing with claims sent on the 13th June due to a back log. Mine was sent the 15th of June so they said it should be sorted by mid next week. Hope that helps

I tried the number 01912251441 and they answer after two rings. I got through first time within seconds. This was following trying the provided 03000 number for eleven days. I have documented my call attempts and will today be formulating a statement of evidence which I will provide to my local MP and a Disability cabinet member. I believe that such a Government statutory service should be doing more to deal with those who struggle with daily functioning and other physical impairments. This 03000 number is quite an issue and needs to be reviewed urgently. My claim for an increase in Tax Credits due to my DLA care award increasing from Middle to higher rate was submitted to the Tax Credits on 28th June 15. The call taker on the 0191 number was courteous and very polite. He stated that he would deal with my claim straight away and the calculation takes two days.

I've tried the 0191 67 times no luck! I reported my Dla change 2nd June was told middle rate didn't count so the advisor didn't report it. I called on 21st to check in progress and found out so she put the referal forward. Called the other day on the normal number and was told to just wait and they have 4 weeks to sort it, 4 weeks was up on the 23rd and still nothing, have others waited over 4 weeks?

I finally got through! After half hour of dialing the 019 number non stop it rung! The lady was lovely and sorted my issue out straight away. I hope you all gets sorted to asap! If it wasn't for me ringing my issue would never of got sorted as my logg was not on the system baring in mind I phoned way back in July :/

ring 0191 225 1441, takes a while to get through, just keep redialling, there's on 10 people answering phone lines, wonderful lady sorted my problem in a couple of minutes.

I had the same problem, always engaged on both numbers. So I called Tax Credits back and the guy I spoke to knew about the problem, even said that there were only 10 staff there (as above), so he e-mailed my query to them. Give it a shot, a few of them are actually human, although I admit I was lucky!!

ive rang tax credits about my change in drop of hours , also my partner has a disability low component ,they sent a referal 3 weeks ago , still heard nothing , i rang yesterday and was told theirs going to be a change on the 8th september and he couldnt tell me any more , i told him my partner has a disability , he said i had to cal the 03000 number what a farce this is , its continually engaged , so what i need to know is why are we ringing this number ????? and whats the big change on the 8th september? so in reality WHY ARE WE RINGING THIS NUMBER?

I just got through. However don't bother calling unless your 30 days is up as I was too early and told me for 31st may notification it will be first week in July. I did have to the time though to try all day. Good luck

Thanks for the update :) must have tried over a hundred times today and still no joy getting through. On the rare occasion I actually get a ringing tone it rings a few times then flips back onto the engaged tone like they are deliberately doing this. My 30 days was up on Monday so incredibly frustrating especially as the tax credits can offer no alternative number or email address :(

Finally got through!!!!!!
At last, someone finally answered the phone. Said my details were in today's workload so she did it there and then on the phone. Said it will take 2 working days to take effect and I will get a letter next week. Thank goodness I can now move on, hope I never have to contact them again.

Ive been ring 0300 number for 3 weeks solid all day.... either line busy, or it rings 10rings and cutts off!! So i tried 0191 and its not in service. I have rang tax credits every day about dla and i have been given 2 deadlines by them that claim should of been sorted and nothing... keep being told ring 0300! Does anyone know how to challenge the government in relation to an official phone line for disabled citizens which never answers and doesn't have a queuing system or message service?

It's disgusting luckily Iam not at work on holidays so I keep trying the 0300 number they don't realise how stressful and worrying it is not knowing what's going on. I'm worried as my daughter has been awarded the lower rate care dla so I don't know of I will get any extra on my WTC!

Real Information About This Telephone Number
This line is not manned by a contact centre..it is a very small team...it should never have been set up in the first place to answer calls..it is manned by only one member of staff each day. The line is so busy that 90% of calls are missed each day because the member of staff is on the phone to a taxpayer at the same time. They have currently got a 6 week backlog of work and during busy periods the phone is not answered at all to try to deal with the mountain of post they have. You have very little chance of getting through to this line but when you do the staff will help you. This team of staff are doing the best they can and are disgusted at the way taxpayers are being treated...but are being crucified themselves with the shambles of an organisation they work for: HMRC Every word of the above is true

They are working referrals dated 27 September 2017 at the moment...remember there is only one person manning one line from 9am to 5pm...lost of calls are lost simply due to the fact that they are answering another person's call when you are trying to ring them.

They are now working 2nd October,,,they are doing their best....this work is to be taken off them and given to contact centre to do in December....but beware... no checking will be done and you could end up with HUGE overpayment....so make sure you give them the correct info !!!!!

I can only assume from this that you work there because you know when they're open etc. My referral was in July and I haven't heard anything and still can't get through. HMRC have said they can put a new referral though but that will mean more waiting again. I'm at a loss at to what I can do now and could really do with the money if we're even entitled to it!!! I put our claim through for WTC in July and still haven't heard anything and can't get through. I've spoken to HMRC about this and they've said they haven't heard of anyone not being able to get through on this number which I've advised them isn't true. I honesty don't know what to do any more about this! Any help would be great as I've tried every time of day during the opening time and still nothing!!

Do not crucify the member of staff on the other end of the phone....senior management in their ludicrous wisdom decided to man this phone line with ONE member of staff !! As the staff member deals with one call...he/she is losing 5 other calls....ridiculous....and most of these calls were irrelevant as they were within the 42 day turnaround time...so just had to wait This line should never have been set up unless management had enough staff to man it. Ring 0345 300 3900 from now on...they will deal with your claim.

Spoke to tax credits and they've said that they are no longer giving out 03000 number. As someone said they will be dealing with claims now. I was told backdated money will only be paid back to when any decision was made from now on.

You can claim back ALL your DLA/PIP if you claim within 30 days of the DWP decision date....if outside this time,you can only claim back 30 days from the first date you contacted the HMRC. 2nd part of your statement is wrong. Claim will be paid in full if you contact HMRC within 30 days of DWP award date...if not inside 30 day limit you will only be paid 30 days back from the date you first contacted the HMRC. As per usual this is being transferred to a contact centre who have not been trained how to implement it correctly....watch the complaints soar.I warn you this :Be very careful that the information you give them is correct....the onus will be on you the taxpayer if overpayments arise!!! Good luck from mid January onwards.

Just checked the app and mine has been processed after I spoke to them yesterday. They have backdated to when my sons DLA was changed to high rate but have spread the payments out over the rest of the year instead of paying lump sum. They have also kept a portion of the money due to be paid at the end of tax year. I have never had that happen before but advisor said it sometimes happens.

Finally got through! It did ring a few times and cut off but fifth time of ringing someone picked up. Lady did it there and then as my cut off date was the 1st Jan. Told me to wait 48hrs to allow time for them to process it and then give tax credits a call to find out my payments etc. Relief to finally get an answer! Also backdating too as I let them know my son got awarded PIp from May last year. Good luck all and persevere!
