Scammer
Caller from this number introduced himself as 'David'. He said he was from Microsoft and informed me that someone had hacked into my computer. I am from the older generation and might have been duped, or at least unsettled and upset by this, but I have been using computers for the past 16 years and I am quite clued up. I politely suggested that he give me the opportunity to check his credentials for security. He rang off. I have now barred this number.

Called twice this morning - claimed to be BC Experts and their number was 0800 800 1530. Wanted to talk about Windows operating systems - quoted what they claimed to be my Windows ID. Eventually claimed that I had Windows 10, which I don't.

BT scammers
Claimed to be from "BT in Alfred Street, London". Several colleagues came on the line all speaking very poor English. Gist was (as far as could be made out) that because of virus activity they would cut off broadband connection or report me to "the police" unless I complied with their demands which were unintelligible. When I asked them to stop wasting time they told me to "bugger off" which I suspect is not in the BT Customer Care manual, and eventually hung up after threatening me with the police again.

Pretends to be Microsoft techs from India
Offer you a FREE clean up tune up and free trial of advertising blocker. Stupidly I took it up because the have a lot of computer and some personal info. Computer slowed down and certain things stopped working. Rang them and CANCELLED. 3 months later they call back and demanded £175 for what they did and "gave" me! I repeated their OWN words to them from my notes but when I switched off that night these people had already stripped out a WINSYS 32 file so my computer would not work AT ALL. Had to wipe it entirely and begin again! Took over 1 month to get back to where I'd been. PLEASE DO NOT LET THESE SOB's IN OR BELIEVE WHAT THEY SAY!

This number is a scame
I have reported it to Vodafone and they are looking into who this number belongs to. I answered this number when it called me today and the man on the phone told me he was from Vodafone. This is not true. If this number phones you do not answer, it is a scam.

"IT" scammers
I have been persistently rung by a Company operating out of Benidorm Spain, calling themselves Home IT Master. They say there is a problem with my computer and then try to charge me £200 to fix it. They use Indian or Pakistani staff with a variety of different English names! and use several variations of this telephone number. The first time I got caught out by it, but not since. When I informed them that Microsoft know of their criminal activity they put down the phone - smartish! Don't be conned by these idiots and don't do anything they say. Home IT Master does have a "mickey-mouse" website which is full of circular or dead links. BEWARE!

landline 1471 said the number was 000 000
Answered the business's phone as soon as I said the company name the caller hung up so I rang 1471 and was informed the number was 000 000 obviously a cold caller/scammer trying for residential numbers. I believe these are international calls. Such time wasters between these, telecom companies, Energy companies, Insurance companies, Vehicle fuel companies et al it could be costing the company thousands of £££'s per year by customers not being able to get an answer because the phone is engaged when they call. I get at least 10 of these a day often more.
