won a makeover
Just had a call from them, usually dont answer to numbers i dont know but am waiting on an important call so did this time, they told me i'd won a makeover day and photoshoot plus drinks for myself and fiancee...knew everything about us, wedding date, our address, email address, etc :/ then asked for £60 deposit over the phone, no way since i'd never even heard of the company! I did go to a wedding fayre recently, but sure any legitimate company wouldnt expect deposit immediately over the phone!!!

Was persistent
I was getting fed up with this number calling but when I answered last night to tell them to SOD off but it was a young man who was looking to sort out some cover I need with my mortgage and I just have to say he did a great job and saved me a big wedge against taking it with my bank! Cheers Dave.

Claim to be Consumer Group something or other
Blathering on about New Government Legislation on Pension Release. Say they get your number from over 300 providers. If that is the case the providers should know better than to give out customer details to 3rd parties. So sick of the lack of data protection yet when we ring a company, we have to jump through hoops to prove who we are!! "IT'S FOR DATA PROTECTION" my foot!!!

Do not open link
My son received a message saying you have paid £30 for 6 entries from combo. 02035405938. I phoned the number and it was a voicemail saying the offices were closed. I then looked up the number on line and seen all the comments about saying its a scam. I phoned my mobile provider talk mobile who said they would put a lock on the phone to stop receiving these calls but could not do anything about the charge and that I would have to pay. It hasn't appeared on my bill yet but it takes 48 hours. What I can't understand is if I am getting charged then the mobile provider must be paying out this money, if they know it is a scam why can't they put a stop to it! The answer I got was that they get so many scams that it is impossible to do anything !!

Dodgy expat pensions transfer
Someone called from "The Heston Group" attempting to get me to get my UK pensions transferred offshore. Claimed that "colleagues" had passed my details to him. I asked who those colleagues were and I was told that the names and numbers were passed through anonymously from LinkedIn contacts. Could not trace any contacts with such a name. Dubious.

scammers.
Scammers, we don't get electricity from e-on. "paul" who called didn't have any information about the so-called contract we had with them. The issue is that these companies (utilities billing companies) are completely unregulated in the UK. This means they can lie, cheat and trick their way into ripping you off with no comeback for the consumer. It has happened to us before and its horrible to be ripped off and you cant get out of the contract. Scammers

fed up & stressed
put the phone down as I answered
When I rang the number back it went straight to a recorded message "please select your language" then there was a list starting with English, through German, Dutch, some East European ones I think, and ending with French. I chose English and got another recorded message, 1 for sales, 2 for support, 3 for accounts. I pressed 2 and got a foreign sounding guy, still not knowing what company I was talking to. When I asked the name of the company he told it was My Security Centre and I must have been called because I had registered for anti-virus or some other computer related problem. I hadn't. I said it was very impolite for their caller to have put the phone down on me, and also that it was unprofessional that they didn't say who they were at the beginning of their recorded message. I said I wasn't interested in what they wanted to sell me and I now have their number recorded in my phonebook so I will not answer if/when they call again.
