accident claim scam
Some guy with an Indian accent claimed I'd been involved in a minor accident recently - difficult as I don't even have a car. He said he was from an accident claim company. I said he had a wrong number and put the phone down. They called back a couple of hours later. Ignore them.

I have also blocked this number. They call and hang-up when I answer or let it ring once and hangup before I can answer. My advice is to never join SKY. Go for Freeview. SKY are like an annoying girlfriend who won't give up. You will be trapped and they will become your stalker. They also sold my land number to marketing company. I get 10-15 calls a week and now don't bother ever answering my landline. All the important people know my mobile anyway. SKY=AVOID!!!

A Call That I Do not want to answer
This number 0800 952 4841 called me today at 10.48am and I did not answer it just put the phone down cause I have had a lot of 0800 numbers ringing me and their all been scams. It's a good job I have block contact on my phone so another 1 to add to my block contact list so whenever they try ringing again they won't be able to get through I have better things to do then answer these calls that are not worth answering to why can't they get the hint any1 interested.

Scam
If you google the phone number , their web site thetechhelpline.co.uk/contact.php is a new approach - trying to give people confidence that they're legit ... even with 'John Doe' as a reference on their page ..DOH Avoid this lot like the plague !!!!!!!

Pesky nuisances
TPS don't block survey/marketing companies because they are exempt as they supposedly NOT trying to sell you anything. I used to get 3 or 4 phone calls a day until I bought a "CPR Callblocker." It has 200 pre-programmed nuisance numbers and you can add up to 100 of your own. You can press the "block now" button, block last number or block a number by entering it directly into your phone. Your phone will store the number in its memory so that you can still see what call you have had but your phone will not ring if its in your "blocked" list. You CAN by choice block ALL with-held numbers and /or ALL international numbers. Best £40 I ever spent. Haven't had an unwanted call get through in over 12 months now so I guess I must have blocked the majority of numbers that have pestered me in the past.

I have not answered this number as they ring at all hours and it isn't a number I recognised. They are ringing at least twice a day every day and have done so for the last week! This is harassment as I have not solicited a call from them . Perhaps we should all start dialling the number regularly and block up their switchboard!

Shop Direct Nuisance calls
Recently signed up with Very.co.uk. I have now received one call every two or three hours until 6pm tonight for the last couple of nights. I have now asked Shop Direct (Very, Littlewoods etc) to close my account and remove all of my details from their database. If you sign up with these online companies, set up a junk email address and use an old phone number, or you will be spammed to oblivion.

Answer them. Ask who they are calling for, and advise that it is not you. Then ASK THEM to confirm the address on the file they are calling about. Probably guarantee it won't be yours. Politely tell them it's wrong and in fairness, you will never hear from them again. One of the few "Nuisance Callers" who are polite and do as they say. They will remove your number from their files.

Telemarketing from EE / T Mobile
Ignored our "DO NOT COLD CALL" entry in the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) which is unlawful. Called while I was asleep - unacceptable - which is we signed up to the TPS - to escape these selfish muppets. No point to the TPS if these clowns just ignore it. EE / T Mobile should be ashamed of themselves.

Report Caller Using 0800444321
I have also received nuisance calls recently, and when I enter 1471 the calls appear to come from 0800444321. When I called 0800444321 to enquire what was going on, I got through to SSE Energy Supply Limited. However SSE denied any knowledge of the calls, and said they never use that number for outgoing calls. SSE did add that they have had numerous complaints about calls apparently from 0800444321. On the only occasion when the caller actually spoke, it turned out that the calls are coming from Domestic & General (Real phone number: 08005978600). If you are receiving calls apparently from 0800444321, then you can report them to the following organisations: If your telephone number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service then you need to contact: Telephone Preference Service Otherwise, you need to contact: Information Commissioner’s Office

Welshman Can't Pronounce Penelope
"Hi is is possible to speak to Penny-lope" Told him she wasn't here, asked if I could take a message, they won't leave one. Usually when they pronounce it 'Penny-lope' instead of 'Pen-ell-o-pee' it's the doctors, but this one left a pause before speaking after I answered, making me say 'hello' twice, so I knew it was a cold caller just because of that.

Its the number that is left on your phone when you are called by someone from the DWP. Note that if you call back this number you wont get the person who was calling you. They will not use your name if they leave a message due to data protection act.

don't touch life insure they are unethical
Rang me on my ex directory and TPS registered telephone number disturbingly asking for me by name. Said they were from Life Insure - told them this was an ex directory telephone number registered with the Telephone preference service, that they had no right to ring this number and they were to never ring this number again - the put the phone down on me which clearly demonstrated that they do not even have basic courtesy to explain apologise or explain where they had got this private telephone number from.
