Barclaycard fraud prevention number
This is Barclaycard fraud prevention number. I received the call today from this number and the automated voice mentioned my full name and the month and year of birth. After confirming this information by pressing number 1 on the keypad the IVR informed me that my card with numbers ending with XXXX has been compromised and a replacement will be issued. The call ended with the option to speak to an adviser.

Similarly rung from the same number but had missed call. After reading this forum, rang a geographic number for Barclays and told by agent that no record of call or any reason for it. She surmised that is may have been a routine courtesy call (if genuine).

August 15th 2017 18:14
Me too, from ee
I had the same experience, text-to-voice message saying my BT phone line was being taken over, 15 Aug 17. I have not talked recently to any phone company, no possible misunderstanding. I phoned BT, it was indeed being transferred, I cancelled. I asked if it was Sky, and found that it was ee.

Message stated need to call number to help " activate Windows product key?" Called number and answered by suspicious sounding Asian female who would not give her companies full title so rang off. Unfortunately I did not anonymise my call and so will probably receive more calls offering computer "help" .

It does not help that the "real" yahoo webite help section does not work. I verify myself as not being a robot and nothing elses happens, the "proceed" link is greyed out and not functioning so how does Yahoo expect anyone to be able to contact them to resolve an issue, madness!

Stalker from a call centre about Funeral Plans
Drove me up the wall with their constant calling so yelled at them to stop calling me, but they persisted even though I had warned them that I had reported them for calling so many times without consent. Even told the company agent that she was a pest, these companies must think we are mugs and pushovers and will do anything to generate them some business, well they are wrong, all they have done is make me think about taking my business elsewhere. If I want anything I go to the company I choose off my own bat, I do not do business with any organisation that employs a bunch of bullies and stalkers who constantly harass through cold calling.

Genuine Barclays Number
Missed 2 calls this morning so checked on the Barclays website before calling back. I messed up a card transaction on Sat 1st and on calling back was an automated system asking me to confirm whether or not I had made the transaction. No details were asked for other than my day of birth (from 4 choices) and if I had tried to make a transaction to a particular company on a certain day of a certain amount. Having done so they then unlocked the account. Hope this helps .
