Same happened to me. It does appear the postcode is valid for Lloyds financial/credit arm is correct, but these deal more with debt recovery. I have an account number on the letter which I do not recognise, I do not bank with Lloyds and haven't for almost 20 years.

definately a scam
I had a message informing me my computer had numerous viruses and to phone this number, unfortunately I did and was nearly persuaded to purchase anti virus package like a fool, I even gave my bank details etc, fortunately, before the money £205 was credited from my account my bank alerted me the transaction was fraudulent so I cancelled it immediately with the bank. The scammers still would not get off my computer and it took hours to remove their actions. I now have had to close my current bank account details and await a new card etc which is really inconvenient, even after telling these people to leave me alone basically as they are fraudulent they still kept requesting payment even on my landline phone and got quite nasty, I m very fortunate my bank alerted me and were very efficient preventing any funds being taken but please beware and don't fall for their truce as I did, they are just another in the line of scammers.

This is an automated service requesting confirmation that you will be attending a previously arranged appointment at your hospital. It will continue to phone you approximately 3 times a day until you answer and confirm whether you attending or cancelling the appointment.

Sorry for duplication, So basically this bank called me yesterday. I am international PhD student in the UK. They keep insist I make appointment and bring along my passport and bank statement etc. I dont see that the mortgage plan is relevant to me in anyway. The conversation just getting more and more odd. They put my appointment on weekdays even I insisted that I am working with university from 8 - 5 pm.

This is a scam offers technical support for one off payment and wrongly represents the condition of your pc system to scare you - they take remote access and whilst all front pages show 'cleaning' processes they are actually at work harvesting your personal details. Do NOT get caught with this scam. Pull the plug on your PC at any moment in the process and get trusted help to scan and clean ur PC and renew antivirus cover ps I notice that No1 on this google search "Who called you" says that this number is not suspicious but at same time it doesn't let you leave a comment. hmmm isnt that suspicious!

Scam call after road accident
I had a road traffic accident on Tuesday. On Thursday I had a call from this number claiming to be a 'legal bureau' who 'mediates between insurance companies'. A guy called James. He had my name, car details and who I was insured with and was ringing because 'we've had a third party witness report'. This was a lie. There were no witness reports. He was asking about the other person involved in the accident and there wasn't one - or rather the one there was did a 'hit and run'! This seems like an 'ambulance chasing' scam - when i told him there were no third parties he rang off. Worrying that he had those details though. I think they buy them from the recovery company or garage!

Just had a call on my landline from this number. I didnt answer , followed my gut instinct. They get your number from when you give it to a site that asks for it, when completing name address etc on forms. Some of these sites sell on your details. I have had to make a mail account to use & am no longer giving out my phone numbers, if it means I win something & lose it or cant win unless I give phone numbers then so be it. I cant be asked to participate in something that could spam me or wanna scam me!

Turned out genuine
I received text as others have with a number to ring and had a call from the 0800 number which i didnt answer. i then googled all the details i'd got, and there was a split opinion on genuine or not. I then rang Barclaycard from the number on my card.which really is what you should always do if in any doubt.and they confirmed it was them, both the texts and cals. so it was genuine But for security always ring a number you have previously for them anyway.

I have been receiving calls for a few days from this number. I never answer 0800 numbers but the frequency of the calls made me think it might be important and if not I could tell them to stop calling. I answered today and repeatedly said hello as there was no answer just office noise in the background. They then hung up on me. I have no idea what it was all about but I won't be answering again, very odd
