They're Playing the Numbers Game
This Safe Secure 'company' are playing the numbers game. They are assuming that a) the person they are calling has domestic appliance insurance and b) they clutch out of the air, when challenged a monthly figure for the premium. The truth is that a) they have no idea who you may be insured with (and remember they are making that assumption that you do have insurance) hence the third party remark, b) they do not know how much you are paying (if they did know this then, logically, they would also know with which company you are insured) c) had indeed it been the case that 'they have taken over the insurance', then surely the previous insurance company would have written to all of its customers saying that Safe Secure are taking over the policy. The only thing this bunch got correct was conforming to PECR by stating the name of the company along with a phone no. where they may be contacted free of charge. I get the impression that they are fishing (not phishing) for business.

A pain in the ..,...
These people are a pain in the backside and seem to believe that we all pay for a telephone service so that they can use it themselves to hawk their goods around. Get caller number display and DON'T pick the phone up when this number is displayed.

NOT CAPITAL ONE.
This is the second time in 2 days this no has rung me. If it was Capital One they would speak to me, have an account with them. Also when they have rung pretty sure not on a sunday. I think what these w*#$kers do is ring you then put the phone down, hoping you'll ring back. Next thing dirty great bill. I have also googled phone nos for Capital One. They have 2 nos for each department, whatever. A freephone, 0800, or Nottingham no 0115. know its Nottingham, got family there. The only thing people can do is keep blocking them.

Unbelievable Jeff, may I offer both you and any in our grand community the following advice when someone asks "What do you want our phone number for?"? Your reply is "Because you have to give your phone number under The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. Failure to provide that information, when requested, could lead to a criminal prosecution under the terms of those regulations. Thus I request that you provide me with your company name and address or a phone no. where you may be contacted free of charge, otherwise I would respectfully point out to you that a failure to comply with this request may be considered a breach of PECR and your company could be in a whole lot of trouble!" See how they take that. It's time that they were bullied instead of us!

phoned yesterday 12/03/2018
I complained to Halifax about something on their official form on their website last Friday. On Monday morning at 9.46 am I had a call on my landline by someone saying his name was Alan and he was from Halifax. He seemed to know all about my complaint. He then said he could only deal with my complaint if he had details of my account. I did not give them to him and put down the phone. I went to my local Halifax branch and they said they would never ask for such details over the phone. I gave them the number and they have passed it to their Fraud department.

Fake call
Called claiming to be Spark and wouldn't let me know what it is about until I give them my personal details (as that's illegal I didn't and said to email me or send me a letter what this is regarding) so they hung up. Then they send a text message from "Spark" (whereas actual SMS from Spark should have "SparkEnergy" in the name) asking me to call them on this number and quote some reference number. After talking to a livechat representative from Spark they confirmed they didn't try to contact me. So this is DEFINITELY a scam.

BT LETTER
Received a letter yesterday stating that my number was to be issued to someone else if I did not respond by the deadline date. Strangely enough though the name on the letter is not mine, although it is my address. I rang them last night and the man I spoke to immediately started trying to sell me another service? I told him that I did not want to cancel my line and that I wasnt interested in making any changes. He assured me it had been cancelled but when I asked for a ref no as proof he just said it was Luke from Doncaster? Today however a parcel arrived addressed again to someone I dont know at my address which had been left at a neighbours. When I got it home I realised it was not for me and the accompanying letter said Welcome to EETV and Broadband?? I am 84 and have no interest in this at all, so am not sure what to do with this box now. Any ideas anyone?

I also have been receiving a monthly text to tell me I am subscribed to Priyanka Choppra for 0.99p per week. I have never subscribed or even heard of her. The text invited me to reply stop, which I ignored as I thought this was a further scam. To my horror I have now learned that EE have been allowing these scum bags to charge 99p each week since last July 2017. The company behind it is Follo or also called payguru. The e mail address is follo@payguru.com. They have a free phone number 08009247988. You will be dealt with by a snotty, arrogant girl who trots out a script that "you must have subscribed, how can I help you" over and over again. Total scam. The date and time I was supposed to have subscribed was impossible,I was out working with no access to a computer. I am informing the police.

SCAM on this telephone number
Received a call from a guy claiming to be from Barclays Premier.Unfortunately for him,I don't bank with Barclays but they have recently pooled their investment services into one integrated financial site.He wanted details stating confidently,"before I proceed I need to make some standard checks".I told him that I had no intention of giving him any details and asked him to provide necessary proof to confirm his identity. This chap was well spoken and pushy and even provided a name when I asked for one.I hung up after a couple of mins but had second thoughts briefly when I did a check and found the number showing as Barclays Premier.I have no doubt this is a scam though and it's clearly still operational after many years.
