thank you for reply. I have in the past bought things from Marisota but i am amazed how persistent they are. The fact there is a charge to find out who they are is appalling. Why can't this scam be stopped? Very grateful for all your information.

SCAM
Its a scam they try claim they are partnered with Microsoft and your computer has a virus. they demand £199 for them to fix it. they ask you to set up remote access then they go through are computer. www dot indyserve dot co dot uk

Man phoned on this number. Asked my name and I gave it without thinking (unfortunately!). Just said he was from British Gas then hung up!!!!

Fraudsters, scammers, call them what you want!
Correspondence sent to my elderly mother (who lives in the B63 /Midlands area) advising that they (whoever 'they' are) are 'taking on her case provisionally' regarding her hearing loss with regard to working in a noisy environment. No header on letter, no address just plain white paper and closed with..... 'Regards Advice Direct' and the telephone number above. There is nothing wrong with my mother's hearing (other than the normal degenerative loss). She never worked in a noisy environment! I have dialed this number but it continually rings out until the line cuts off (i.e. just a single continual tone.). There is nothing on the internet that relates directly to this number or to a google search relating to this particular 'Advice Direct'. I have also spoken to Trading Standards who advise that this number is a scam!

Received phone call before 8am asking about a neighbour, of course I did not tell, infact I did not know the answer, but I am X Directory so how did they get my number , they call themselves Apex Discovery Solutions, and telephone numbers are given out by Trace Smart
